What are home groups?
Home Groups are an essential part of Reliance Church’s vision to lead people to know, love, and serve Jesus. They’re a place to build meaningful relationships, grow deeper in your faith, and experience Christian community beyond Sunday mornings.
In a Home Group, you can expect to connect with others, worship together, discuss the Sunday message, encourage one another, and build Christ-centered relationships that last a lifetime.
Looking to take the next step in your walk with Jesus? Home Groups are for you!
Grow as a disciple of Jesus in the context of community.
Home Groups meet for two semesters during the Spring (February-April) and Fall (September-November) seasons. Meeting details vary by group, but generally occur on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for 1.5-2 hours. All Home Groups forgo their weekly meeting on the first week of the month in order to gather corporately with the rest of the church body at FIRST WEDNESDAY.
Home Groups are essential to the vision of Reliance Church as we aim to lead people to know, love, and serve Jesus. Joining a Home Group is a great way to “put feet on your faith” and practically live out the Good News of Jesus Christ.
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
– Acts 2:42

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When Can I Sign Up for a Home Group?
Home Group registration opens before each semester begins in the Fall and Spring. You can sign up online through our Home Groups page, in person at one of our weekend services, or by calling the church office, where our team can help connect you with the right group.
We encourage you to sign up before the semester begins so you can start building relationships and growing in community from the beginning!
Do You Offer Childcare for Home Groups? Can My Teenager Join Me?
Childcare is not provided for most Home Groups. However, our Young Families Home Groups offer childcare for children from birth through 3rd grade. All childcare volunteers have completed Reliance Kids Ministry’s “Red-Shirt” training and have undergone background checks and Live Scan fingerprinting.
Groups that meet on Wednesday night may take advantage of the Reliance Kids Midweek program. Parents can drop kids off, attend their group, and then return for pickup. Please make a point to be on time!
Teenagers are welcome to join their parents’ Home Group and participate as contributing members of the group.
What Happens at a Home Group Gathering?
Every Home Group has its own personality, but gatherings typically include time to connect with one another, worship together, discuss the Sunday message or study God’s Word, and pray together. Some groups may also share a meal or enjoy other activities.
Our desire is for Home Groups to be a place where you can grow in your relationship with Jesus, encourage others, and live out your faith in everyday life.
When and How Often Do Home Groups Meet?
Home Groups meet during two semesters each year:
Spring: February–May
Fall: September–December
Meeting days and times vary by group, but most meet on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for approximately 1.5–2 hours. During the first week of each month, Home Groups pause their regular meetings so we can gather together as a church for FIRST WEDNESDAY, an evening of corporate worship and fellowship.
