FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does a day at VBS look like?
Each day is jam-packed with skits, Bible lessons, worship, sports, team building, crafts, and so much more! When you register, you’ll choose one of the eight “electives” that your child will be a part of for the whole week. These are the “games” in Kids’ Games! Your child will be assigned to a small group of 10-12 new (and old) friends in the same age bracket and elective for the entire week. Led by their “Huddle Coaches,” after morning check-in, the groups rotate through each day’s activities and enjoy the fun-filled week together!
What are the “electives” I can choose for my child to participate in?
Football – Kids will participate and understand the importance of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship while fostering relationships as they grow in their basic football skill sets.
Baseball – Kids will learn and execute baseball fundamentals with a Biblical lean. Kids partake in fun drills and games to introduce or refresh their throwing, catching, fielding, and running skills.
Soccer – Kids learn fundamental Soccer skills with an emphasis on teamwork and community, knowing that they are part of God’s Team! (Galatians 6:2).
Cheer – Kids are taught and participate in cheerleading techniques, but most importantly, take their passion for cheer and use it as a form of praise to God.
Hip Hop – Kids learn hip-hop style choreography set to fun and upbeat Christian Dance music.
Worship Workshop – A time for kids to learn more about worship, not just through singing and music but through dancing and everything they can use to praise God (Psalm 150:6).
Team Building – A super way to give participants the opportunity to build trust as a community and connect with other kids to solve team challenges and have fun!
Kids Crafts – Fun and engaging crafts for your child to create and exhibit God’s gift of creativity and imagination.
Who can register for VBS?
Students 5 Years Old – 5th grade (as of the Fall, 2023 school year).
What is the cost?
VBS is $25 per participant. For the Kids Crafts elective, there is an additional $10 fee to accommodate the needed supplies.
Where is VBS held?
VBS is held at Linfield Christian School (31950 Pauba Rd, Temecula). All VBS activities take place in the gymnasium and surrounding sports fields.
What measures ensure my child’s safety?
We take safety very seriously and will ensure your child is kept under adult supervision at all times. Every single person on our team has been interviewed, trained, and fingerprinted.
What do my kids learn about the Bible?
Each day, your kids will learn a simple, age-appropriate Bible lesson focused on the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each day includes a short Bible teaching, small-group discussion, a time of prayer, and energetic worship through song and dance!

What if my child takes medication?
If your child needs medication administered during the VBS program, please check-in all medications to Home Base.
Our Safety Team will hold and administer all medications. Your child may not carry or administer their own medications.
What about allergies and special dietary needs?
We do provide snacks each day which may include dairy and gluten (however, we do not offer peanut products).
If you would prefer that your child not be given the snack, they will be assigned a wristband to indicate to the Huddle Coaches and other leaders that they have opted out. We ask that you pack a snack for them each day (no peanuts please) and send it with your child when you check-in.
How does pick-up and drop-off work?
When picking up your child, make sure you have your check-out ticket with you (it contains a unique code for your child) and follow the signs for your child’s last name pick-up area. Locate your child, and exit at the check-out stations, showing your ticket to our attendants.
If you are dropping off late, please check in at Home Base when you arrive.
Early check-out is discouraged, but if needed, please make arrangements at Home Base in the morning after you drop your child off. For the safety of all the participants, early check-out is not available after 11 a.m.
May I stay with my child?
For the safety of all the participants, we must insist that parents do not stay with their children once they are checked-in each day.
Can I cancel my registration? Or what if my child can’t attend every day?
If you need to cancel your registration, please call our office as soon as possible. We do have a waitlist, and if you cannot attend, we will gladly refund your registration fee and provide your spot to someone else. Due to the nature of VBS and the extended preparation needs, we will not be able to refund your registration fee if you cancel after May 30th.
Due to the nature of VBS, we strongly suggest that you make every effort to attend each day. However, in the event that your child must miss a day, no need to make any arrangements – we’ll simply be happy to see you when you return the next day!
Do you accommodate children with special needs?
Yes! For children with special needs, we will assign a trained “Special Buddy” for one-on-one assistance. Please make a notation on your registration and we will contact you to make arrangements.
What should my child wear to VBS?
Most of our program takes place outside so please plan for the Summer weather and be sure to wear sunscreen every day. For safety reasons, kids must wear closed-toe shoes every day.
What is the ratio of students to teachers?
Your child will be assigned to a small group of 10-12 students that will be led by a qualified leader and one or two assistant helpers.
What Parents are Saying
SERVE AT VBS
Hosting over 1,000 kids at VBS is a monumental task – one that we believe is worth every ounce of effort we can give! VBS at Reliance Church is our largest outreach of the year, larger even than Christmas or Easter. We know that God uses VBS every single year to impact the lives of hundreds of kids in our valley. There is nothing like being a part of an amazing work of God and seeing firsthand the love of Christ move in these little hearts.
It takes over 400 servants to effectively host a VBS like this for our community. We invite you to be a part of the team!
Servant positions are open to Jr. High and High School students, as well as adults of all ages. Even parents – we have childcare arrangements for your younger kids so you can serve too!

A GENEROUS GOSPEL
As our largest outreach event of the year, VBS requires a substantial financial investment – one that we’re happy to make! We’re humbled and honored that God continues to provide the means year after year to keep registrations costs at an absolute minimum. We never want the registration fee to be a barrier for a family to join VBS!
If you’d like to partner with us financially, know that your tax-deductible donation goes directly toward proclaiming the gospel to thousands of kids and their families throughout the valley. Click the button below to donate:
